Winter Quarter
In the present.
Before the transfer of executive boards, the outgoing VP SLC was able to achieve SLC accreditation through the grueling application process. This new accreditation shows that the Cal BA chapter is responsible for creating a solid learning environment and is responsible for the future learning strategies that the undergraduates will utilize beyond their time at Sigma Phi Epsilon. We are proud and honored to have earned this accreditation and are thankful to the outgoing VP SLC, Luke Burgard for helping us earn this esteemed honor.
The Brothers of Sigma Phi Epsilon held their annual Winter Quarter Philanthropy, SigEp Safari where we raise money for Big Brothers Big Sisters. Boothing on Ring Road, the undergraduates were able to raise awareness for this charity and receive donations from students at the University of California Irvine. Throughout the week sorority women competed in various challenges around the campus, bought merchandise from the chapter, and attended a Campuswide hosted at the SigEp house.
The week ended at the very first SigEp Powderpuff football tournament at the ARC fields. Here the top four sororities competed in football games with a SigEp twist. The sororities were able to donate money for advantages and disadvantages during the games. An example of this was a sorority donating money for one of their coaches to come play in the game with them. It was a thrilling conclusion to a fun week raising money for a good cause.
The winner of SigEp Safari was Pi Beta Phi, but in total we raised money for our charity and are extremely grateful for those who participated.
